English Teacher, Cheshunt, Interview from April 19th

A growing, mixed secondary comprehensive in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire is seeking an English teacher to join the team starting April 2022. The ideal English teacher will be qualified and be a passionate teacher.

This is a very secondary school located on the edge of London and Hertfordshire who are seeking a qualified teacher of English to join the English faculty. The school attracts students from students in Hertfordshire and Enfield. This is a mixed secondary school and the Headteacher is actively seeking a teacher who is interested in securing a role they can grow and develop within.

The secondary school aim to develop as confident, responsible, and articulate learners and citizens to reveal and develop their inner strengths, and to thrive at school and beyond

There is a big focus on Literacy at Key stage 3, they offer a range of engaging, relevant and achievable courses, there is a focus on Mental Health and Wellbeing Development especially as well as A focus on the quality of Extended Writing amongst a range of other things.

The English course is accessible and interesting, the team teach and follow a Greek mythology and a 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at year 7, non-fiction comprehension and informal writing and Romeo and Juliet at year 8. More information can be provided upon request.

We are working together to source a teacher who is able to teach Key stage 3 and 4.

This secondary school is located 40 minutes from Central London using public transport but is located in a part of London that offers leafy tree-lined streets and property rental prices are very reasonable. THE RIGHT ENGLISH SPECIALIST WILL BE:
* Hold a BA and PGCE in English
* Confident with teaching GCSE and A level
* Creative, patient, and willing to think outside of the box

THE SUCCESSFUL ENGLISH TEACHER WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
* Exceptional English degree
* UK classroom teaching experience
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Be able to provide teaching references for the last 2 years
* A fully enhanced DBS on the online update service
* Salary paid to scale - teachers' pay scale MPS or UPS1 dependent on experience
