Quality & Curriculum Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Further Education organisation (low risk) as a Quality & Curriculum Manager. This role will require you to support and maintain the delivery of high-quality apprenticeship training which results in the achievement of company KPIs across the Apprenticeship programme and ensuring a high level of learner and employer satisfaction.

The role of Quality and Curriculum is a key Senior Management role that spans across all delivery and is instrumental in shaping our curriculum plans and driving forward the quality of our education and outcomes for learners.

Due to the nature of the role, whilst the successful candidate does not need to be based in Wolverhampton full time it will be a requirement to spend a set (negotiable) amount of regular time in the office.

The role does involve periodic travel to our centres and also to other locations to observe and support our Apprenticeship staff.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

Monitor, improve and manage quality assurance and improvement processes across all sites to ensure all policies, procedures and all areas of learning are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the learners.

To regularly develop, review and monitor curriculum intent, implementation and impact to ensure curriculum plans are effectively meeting the needs of all stakeholders.

Carry out a schedule of deep dives, internal inspections and audits across all sites and programmes to include learner, staff and employer interviews/feedback to identify areas for development/ improvement.

Work holistically with staff across all programmes to ensure existing provision is of high quality. Ensure new standards/courses are effectively implemented through the development of effective processes and procedures.

Co-ordinate the implementation and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives with internal quality assurance staff to maintain high quality programmes and improve curriculum delivery, including new standards and OTTLAs.

Identify areas for improvements in the learner journey throughout the organisation.

Produce the annual SAR and update as necessary ensuring the process is robust and inclusive of learner, employer, staff and stakeholder feedback.

Evaluate the provision ongoing against the current EIF and any subsequent updates.

Ensure changes to Government policies / Safeguarding / Prevent / Child Protection / Ofsted are effectively communicated to all staff and where necessary internal policies and procedures reviewed, revised and implemented.

Ensure the Quality Improvement Plan and subsequent quality processes are robust and updated regularly in line with the quality cycle.

Carry out periodic audits/deep dives on Equality & Diversity, Work Experience, Safeguarding, Prevent and Child Protection. Ensure they feed into the SAR and Quality Improvement Plan.

In liaison with HR update policies on a three yearly cycle or as and when required with relevant key staff.

Review and update all company processes on annual or sooner if required.

Take a leading role as Head of Centre with awarding organisations for qualifications, GCSEs and Apprenticeship Standards.

Lead on the Matrix accreditation and subsequent updates.

Plan the Business Improvement and Self-Assessment day with key staff.

Support programme area staff in a mentoring coaching role as required.

Complete Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessment as required and ensure that the organisation improves teaching, learning and assessment year on year through effective use of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) staff and targeted CPD activities.

Complete learning walks across programme areas to identify good practice and areas for improvement.

Ensure the profile of Equality & Diversity is high and continually improved across all programmes and that learners have a broad learning experience and achieve equally.

Review all aspects of the learner journey. Summarise findings periodically to the Board, highlight good practice and areas for development alongside suggested improvement actions for agreement.

Support all aspects of safeguarding, Prevent and child protection ensuring that they remain high profile across Nova and that learners are safe.

Work within the company H&S policy and alongside the H&S manager to implement policies and standards effectively.

Experience & Qualifications:

Level 5 management qualification

Degree level qualification or equivalent.

A full teaching qualification.

Access to own car (essential)

Successful experience of working with people and teams.

Knowledge and experience of internal and external assessment, standardisation and verification processes.

Detailed understanding of the EiF and overall expectations of Ofsted. Successful experience of quality improvement activities and procedures.

Detailed knowledge and experience of current curriculum developments across SEN education, and particularly associated with Maths, English and employability.

Experience of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment to at least level

Understanding of ESFA funded programmes with a particular focus on 16-18 Study Programmes, Traineeships and Provision for Learners with High Needs. All age Apprenticeships.

Experience of using data to manage performance and bring about improvement.

Experience of building and maintaining successful partnerships for the enhancement of the learner experience.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week, Mon-Fri

Salary: Up to £45,000 pa (depending upon qualifications and experience)
