English SEND Teacher

Five Education requires an experienced full-time teacher to work in a SEND department, with secondary age children in groups of 5-10. The school is a diverse inner-city secondary with a high proportion of ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language).
This role could involve one or more of the following; teaching phonics, English teaching, managing the resource base, and possibly leading a small team of 4-5 TAs. This would also include managing the base from a pastoral/behaviour/safeguarding perspective.

The role will include; responding to challenging behaviour, meeting students' social-emotional needs, and ensuring that the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies are followed. The right candidate will be skilled in supporting pupils with restorative conversations to ensure they make progress towards their targets.

The children require additional support with learning and working at a much lower level than their peers. A Secondary / Primary SEND teacher is preferred.

The school is flexible with working patterns and can accommodate part-time or full-time workers. This role is needing to be filled ASAP.

The daily rate for this role is a minimum of £106 to £162 inclusive of holiday pay and is paid through PAYE. This role is ongoing.
