They are now looking for experienced Paraplanners to support to the Financial Planning Team working from their Wells, Yeovil, Chippenham and Exeter office's. for exceptional Career Paraplanners they will consider remote working and candidates from further afield.
Overall purpose
As a Paraplanner, you will be responsible for providing report writing and technical research support to the Financial Planners. The role will involve writing suitability reports and making financial planning recommendations.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
You will act as the technical interface to support the Financial Planners and their clients, providing vital support to them in making suitable recommendations and the subsequent implementation
Collate and maintain information and documents required to support the advice team in providing compliant advice
Analyse portfolios, performance, benchmarks, progress towards goals, and asset allocation
Assist with the preparation of rebalancing and new investment recommendations with all attendant tax planning opportunities observed
Ensure all supporting documentation and back office systems are maintained as per company procedures and processes
CPD ensuring you remain fully up to date with developments in legislation, investment and technology
Contribute to development of best practice within the Financial Planning Team
Expertise
Experience in a paraplanner role within an IFA or Wealth Management firm is essential
Attained or working towards CII Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4)
Ability to create tailored written communication to the client detailing complex information and recommendations
Thoroughly analyse a situation to arrive at a recommendation in line with the clients objective
Confident communicator at all levels, with the ability to adapt approach depending on audience, and manage difficult discussions
Well-developed written communication skills, able to construct logical, clear, and concise documentation appropriate to given audience
Understand current regulations and how they apply to our clients
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and proactive approach
Ability to act professionally and with discretion
Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
Shows persistence, flexibility, and innovation when faced with challenges or obstacles
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, capable of anticipating, resolving, and owning problems through to resolution
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, both written and numerical, is required in order to perform the duties of this role

Complexity
You will act as the technical based point of contact on a non-advisory basis and will have to deal with a variety of providers and third parties
Understand the clients requirements and deliver on time to a high standard
Fact-finding and risk profiling must be completed; shortfalls raised with planner if necessary
Thoroughly analyse a situation to arrive at a recommendation in line with the clients objective
Adhere to external regulation and internal policies
In return there is a highly competitive negotiable starting salary depending on experience + with 25 days holiday. This is exclusive of Bank Holidays which this year is an additional 9 days. People can also buy an extra 5 days of leave if they wish. You will also get our birthday off should it fall on a working day.
