Finance Controller

This could well be the position you are seeking, and it offers the successful incumbent a broad and hands on role producing both management and financial reporting, leading a small team and being part of the senior management team, guiding decision making through detailed analysis and financial observations.

As Head of Finance / Finance Controller/ Finance Manager, your new company is very well-established, and they are a subsidiary of an international company. They have a thriving client base and reputation operating as an innovator in a highly niche sector with a turnover of around £20m.

To succeed in post, you must technically, and commercial savvy as will be relied upon heavily not just by the Managing Director but other key internal stakeholders as well to aid decision making on the direction of the business and growth support.

You will also need to be confident reporting into a group / subsidiary operation on the routine timetabled reporting, but also on a sporadic and ad hoc basis when key information is required.

The position is highly hands on and visual role, where you will hold responsibility for the efficient and accurate management of the finance reporting timetable and all associated accounting activities, which will include but not be limited to:

Producing both financial and management accounting information

Managing a robust cashflow and timely cashflow forecasting

Completing statutory year-end accounts and audit process

Annual budgets production

Managing robust financial controls to ensure integrity of all financial

systems, processes, and outputs

Producing and submitting monthly payroll submissions to the

outsourced provider

Preparing and submitting standard and complex VAT returns and all

other HMRC requirements

About you:

You will need to be qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or similar) or qualified by experience, with hands on experience of working in a small to medium company (note turnover above).

Any exposure of working in a subsidiary environment or reporting to a group will be welcomed.

Experience of leading a team from the front is essential, as is having confidence in your own accounting and finance knowledge and skills, you will be the no1 finance lead and go to on site.

Strong and clear communication skills are expected and the ability to present and discuss finance with non-finance stakeholders is prerequisite.

You must have proven IT skills including advanced level excel (macros will be advantageous) and experience of working with an ERP system.

A salary of circa £60,000 per annum is on offer (negotiable dependent on suitability and experience) and the role can accommodate some hybrid working, pension, healthcare cover and a bonus. There is on site car parking.
