Group Accountant

Our client is social housing provider and currently they are seeking a Group Accountant for a permanent position with a mixture of home and office working (in the office approx. 1 day a week).

The role is paying approx. £55k per annum and offers attractive work benefits. To apply candidates must be fully qualified and have a background in social housing.

Duties will include:

- Responsible for the preparation of the financial statements for the Group, as well as the co-ordination of the subsidiary financial statements with supporting schedules in readiness for external audit

- Ensure that the Finance Business Partners are updated with any relevant changes to finance policies and accounting standards and ensure that these are reflected in the preparation of the financial statements and through the nominal ledger

- Liaised with the external auditors and tax advisors and co-ordinate the year end process

- Produce accurate and timely consolidated Group monthly management information packs which includes management accounts, rolling cash flow forecasts, KPI performance analysis and narrative on performance

- Complete the Groups regulatory financial returns by due deadlines using accurate information from the finance system and in liaison with other Finance Business Partners

- Utilise the financial data within the Group to provide benchmarking data for internal reporting and to use this to challenge and improve performance

- Develop and implement effective Group operational procedures and processes which supports the wider finance teams and improves performance

- Build effective relationships across the wider finance team to act as the conduit and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual timetables of tasks to ensure deadlines met and work completed on time. (e.g. year end timetable, statutory returns).
