Finance Assistant

A central Cardiff based charity are seeking a Finance Assistant on a part time basis for a six month fixed term contract. This is an extremely flexible opportunity offering hybrid office and home based working.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing effective and reliable support to the Senior Finance Officer in the maintenance of current year records and preparation of month-end and year-end accounts.

Part time hours over three-four days per week with hybrid working from home options.

Finance Assistant duties:
  • Assist with accounting entries, ensuring all transactions are appropriately authorised and supporting documentation completed, scanned and filed.
  • Process cheque and direct transfer payments, cash and cheque deposits and expenses claims.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts including company credit card and petty cash.
  • Assist in the month-end close down tasks, and preparation of monthly management
  • Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and providing audit evidence.
  • Carry out other finance and administrative tasks as necessary.
Finance Assistant person specification
  • Previous experience of bookkeeping in a business or charity.
  • Experience using Sage or similar finance packages.
  • Ability to produce accurate work under pressure.

Working hours are three/four days per week. Hybrid working from home options available. This opportunity is working for a family friendly, flexible employer.
