Our client is a non-profit distributing organisation with a difference. They operate at the heart of the UK and Irish media industry, auditing and certifying the circulation figures of hundreds of newspaper and magazine brands, as well as being a leading auditor of companies involved in digital ad trading to industry standards – allowing £billions worth of advertising to be traded with confidence each year.

Job Purpose:

Their auditing business is evolving and they are looking for experienced Auditors to expand the team. Our clients role is to verify that media owners and advertisers comply with a range of self-regulatory standards. Their clients include well known magazine, newspaper and television media owners, advertising agencies and a variety of companies who provide services to the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

You will undertake audit work from a range of specialisms, including:

  • Circulation –print and digital circulation of newspapers & magazines.
  • Online traffic – data reported by websites, apps and digital publications.
  • Digital advertising –codes of best practice in-brand safety, ad fraud, and targeted advertising.
  • Digital TV – reporting of programme viewing data, and verifying advertising delivery processes.

You will be expected to:

  • Complete all audits to defined quality standards and time budgets.
  • Maintain good internal communication with other staff, ensuring there is a client-centred approach.
  • Provide a professional level of service for clients, during the planning, conduct and completion of audits.
  • Contribute to the development of standards and audit methodologies.
  • Promote the benefits of company membership to clients and associates.

Key Competencies:

  • Audit and Risk Analysis skills – apply strong audit methodology with minimal supervision and identify key risks to a given audit process or client.
  • Analysis & evaluation – demonstrate a keen eye for detail but can analyse issues and reach high level conclusions.
  • Industry & business awareness – display a sound basic knowledge of the company, its purposes, and the wider media industry
  • Professionalism - take clear ownership of work and completing it in a professional manner

Training and Development:

Full training will be provided in your designated work specialisms. It's most important to us to find an Auditor with a solid background and assess your adaptability to learn those specialisms.

Experience Required:

We welcome applicants with all levels of experience but would consider the following to be the most relevant for the type of work we do:

  • Assurance reporting e.g. ISAE 3000.
  • Financial and Internal auditing, including CIA qualification.
  • Evaluating systems risks & controls.
  • Data analytics.
  • Media and advertising industry.

Working Hours and Location:

  • Working primarily from home, with some travel to our offices in Berkhamsted.
  • Occasionally you may be required to work at clients’ premises, most of which are in or around London.
  • their normal hours are 37½ hours per week with flexible working. However, they're open to receiving applications from candidates wishing to work part time/ less hours.

Please Note: This role is not a finance/accounting role, and as such we would be unable to support someone wishing to complete an ACCA or equivalent qualification.
