Health and Fitness Club - Accounts Assistant

Wellington Health & Fitness Club is situated within the 400 acre grounds of Wellington College in Crowthorne, Berkshire. The Club is a well-established dual use leisure facility with a wide range of facilities including a swimming pool, fully equipped Fitness Room, Sports Halls, Dance Studios, Climbing Wall and a fully licenced Bar / café, which serves over 2000 members as well as accommodating the PE and Sports programme for over 1000 students at Wellington College throughout the academic year. The Health & Fitness Club is currently looking for highly motivated Accounts Assistant to join the team on a fulltime, permanent basis. The full time working hours are 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Daily Cash Counting, Analysis and Banking
  • Input and Reconciliation of Petty Cash
  • Posting and Reconciliation of Daily Sales with Bank
  • Creation of Lets Sales Invoices – Liaising with College Events Team
  • Producing Intercompany Sales Invoices
  • Liaising with Programme Manager to raise Block Booking/Hirers invoices
  • Invoicing of Real Tennis monthly statements
  • Full Operation of Purchase Ledger: Invoice Processing, Coding, Payment, and Statement Reconciliation, including WAP invoice authorisation system.
  • Resolving both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger queries
  • Reconciliation of Daily Subscription Income and Processing of monthly Direct Debit run in liaison with Membership Team.
  • Processing cheque requests and Bank Transfers
  • Maintenance of accounting analysis spreadsheets as required by Club Accountant
  • Preparing Information/Figures for external Stock Taker
  • Assisting with Month End procedures including Journal Posting
  • Placing orders through Amazon, Tesco etc.
  • Reconciliation and posting of Company Credit Cards
  • Assisting with the Company VAT return and partial VAT allocation
