Finance Director

My client is a national business with global ownership and a turnover in excess of 500billion. Currently experiencing rapid growth and therefore seeks a Finance Director for its Transformation Programme for locations based in the Manchester and Southern areas. This role will have specific responsibility for the financial activity for the programmes on behalf of the business. These are sizable programmes with heavy investment. The person for this role can be based in Manchester or Stansted, there will be some travel required to both locations.

The role incorporates supporting the delivery of the Transformational Programme through the financial management of various work packages, including design services, programme and project controls and management.

In addition, the Finance Director will work with the Programme Directors and Project Executives for each scheme to ensure delivery in line with the business case, including revenue and yield enhancements as well as the project cost. This role will take full ownership of the investment models, to help assess alternative delivery scenarios and options, including the timing of different products to allow for the best solution both financially and for the project outcome.

There will be a high degree of reporting involved in order to keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress and to flag any issues and/or risks as early as possible. Analysis with regards to costs and revenue risks will be required.

The successful candidate will be the day-to-day representative and in addition to the regular/standard Programme Reporting you will take responsibility for engaging the respective site FDs and building relationships.

The right person for this role will have.

Minimum of five years experience, preferably with PLC or an international organisation

Demonstrable experience of large-scale construction projects and associated procurement

Demonstrable successful track-record of supporting the transformation and implementation of new operational procedures

Have good understanding of modelling and its interpretations

Understanding of commercial and legal constructs associated with concessionaire and operational contracts

Holding significant Delivery and budget responsibility

An excellent negotiator, with excellent interpersonal skills, having the ability to engage at different levels, with differing audiences.
