As Senior Finance Manager at Unipart Logistics you will be responsible for all financial matters of the Consumer and Utilities accounts. You will be joining a strong Finance team with high levels of engagement and will become a key member of that team with responsibility for a number of key strategic contracts.

Key responsibilities include:- Leading and managing the team and being responsible for their objectives and development
- Ensuring the timely and accurate reporting by the team
- Consolidate and report the financials to the Head of Finance, and Logistics Centre, on a timely basis for - Weekly and monthly results - Budgeting, forecasting and Corporate Plan
- Fully understand the Consumer and Utilities accounts and their processes and the interactions those processes have with the financial results
- Clearly articulate to clients the financial costs of their contracts, the root cause of any variances and the implication of any changes
- Lead the Financial Year End process
- Maintain tight cost control for the clients
- Maintain tight financial control for UL, including fully understanding the contractual and commercial arrangements with each client
- Creation, review and presentation of internal and client budgets and forecasts
- Review Consumer monthly cashflow forecasts
- Ensuring sales invoices are raised accurately and on time by the team
- Maintain tight control of balance sheets on a monthly basis
- Form a strong relationship with the Consumer leadership team and Utilities leadership team, providing challenge, financial support and insights
- Interaction with clients, being able to inspire confidence in budgets / forecast and the reported financial results
- Be the finance lead for all new business and account development, including account retention and strategic growth of Consumer and Utilities
- Play an active part in the Continuous Improvement programme
- Proactively improve the financial processes to find ways to streamline reporting
- Preparation and maintenance of up-to-date SOPs
About You- Qualified accountant (at least 5 years), able to translate strong technical expertise into practical application, and operational activity into financial impact
- Strong commercial and operational experience with a proven background of delivery
- Ability to provide credible support to non-finance areas of the business
- Ability to operate at all levels within an organisation from boardroom to shop floor
- Strong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
- Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
- Experience in logistics, retail and Supply Chain environments
- Excellent Excel and Google Sheet skills
- A proven track record of developing team
- Able to work effectively across finance, internal functions and with customers
- Fine eye for detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills ability to adapt style for internal and external customers and also influence others
- Approachable manner ability to engage with colleagues in a way that gains their buy-in
- Self-motivated proactive can-do attitude, demonstrating energy, enthusiasm and commitment
- Flexibility ability to cope with a number of concurrent high level projects at a senior level
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines in a fast paced changing environment
