Finance Manager

Twenty2 Recruitment are supporting one of our key Clients in Burton with the recruitment of a Finance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and dynamic business, with opportunity for development as the business continues to go through a period of redevelopment and growth.


Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is working closely with key stakeholders across the business and managing the day to day finance function for all aspects of the Organisation. It also has the responsibility of managing a finance team.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Support and liaise with the Managing Director and the Head of Departments in meeting the strategic goals of the business.
  • Overall accounting and financial management requirements for the business.
  • Represent the Finance department during regular management meetings.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and board pack
  • Preparation of weekly KPI reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Overseeing and verifying all financial transactions are accurate.
  • Overseeing and verifying monthly payroll.
  • Overseeing and verifying monthly supplier payment run.
  • Ensuring a strong accounting and operational control environment within the business.
  • Monitor and improve operation costs, profitability and manage business risks.
  • Streamline processes and procedures to improve efficiency within the business.
  • Foster a continuous learning culture within the Finance team and provide training where necessary extending to other departments.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals and provide feedback where necessary.
  • Any other tasks as and when required by the management


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing the finances for a multi-functional business.
  • Knowledge of the retail, leisure or hospitality would be an advantage.
  • Great IT skills particularly on excel and Sage 50.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Team leadership, training, and delegation skills.
  • Analytical skills and very well organised.
  • Used to working to deadlines.
  • Confident in forecasting, preparing budgets, financial/business decision making.
  • AAT Qualified, CIMA or ACCA part qualified would be an advantage.
