Construction Manager

A new opportunity has arisen for a Construction Manager to join a leading apartment developer to work on a flagship high end residential development in Manchester City Centre.

Projects range up to £100m in value and include the construction of high specification and contemporary living apartments including penthouse suites, built to the highest of quality. The development also includes the construction of leisure and pool facilities, concierge area and underground basement car parking. Towers can reach up to 30- 50 storeys high.

The role

You will report to a Project Manager and will work within a team of Construction Managers, responsible for the supervision of a set number of internal fit out subcontract packages from 1st fix, 2ndand final fix across several floors within a high rise tower block.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Overseeing the delivery of subcontract packages in line with company health and safety standards and requirements

Preparing method statements and risk assessments

Planning the day to day labour resource requirement

Supporting the Project Manager to develop up to date and accurate programmes of work

Overseeing build quality, productivity, and motivation of subcontract trades.

Provision of timely progress reports

The Experience Required

The successful candidate will have the following:

A proven track record of assistant / site management, section or package management onresidential or commercial construction projects for a main building contractor or housing developer.

A detailed working knowledge of health and safety legislation

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead efficiently and manage large subcontract teams

Adaptable and flexible with the ability to work under pressure

Educated to HNC / HND standard or equivalent or have a proven time served trade background with the successful package management.

SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid and other relevant industry health & safety certifications.
