A brand new opportunity for a Construction Manager to join the frame division of a leading developer for a leading high rise RC framed development valued at c.£80m in Manchester city centre.

The company carry their own extensive plant & machinery and self-deliver the build from civil engineering through to build & completion with their own in-house team of setting out engineers and a dedicated structural/ frame team.

This is a highly reputable building company than can offer longevity with an impressive pipeline of future projects within Manchester for several years ahead.


The Role


Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the construction management and direction of a frame team and engineers.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing method statements and risk assessments

Overall management of the frame team, programme and temporary works in relation to civils and structures.

Ensure that the frame element of the project is delivered in line with high company standards, compliance, budget, and timescales

Oversee the quality, productivity, and motivation of the project frame team

Liaise effectively with project team, senior management, and directors

Early identification of design risk, technical issues & resolution

Effective communication of technical issues between project teams, functions, and support services


The Experience Required


The successful candidate will have the following:

RC Frame high rise experience is essential

A degree in Civil Engineering / Engineering or other relevant discipline

Experience of managing other project team members such as controls, planning and risk

Experience of working as part of integrated & collaborative teams

IT Skills - Able to operate at high competence level in MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project

Strong technical ability and confidence to present technical knowledge to the team and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Well-developed leadership skills to support and assist the team.

Excellent planning and organisational ability with a high level of attention to detail.

Dependable, self-reliant, tactful, able to work with a variety of people.

Can stay calm and objective in difficult situations.

Is proactive, dedicated, and flexible.
