Senior Technical Editor

Position

BikeRadar is looking for a technical editor to lead the brands road and gravel coverage. The role can be positioned as a more senior or more junior role depending on experience.

This is a key role within the editorial team and you will be responsible for the organisation, planning and delivery of industry-leading tech content on BikeRadar.

You will be comfortable working across a range of digital formats, whether producing sharp, SEO-friendly copy for the web, hosting insightful and entertaining podcasts, or presenting engaging video for BikeRadars YouTube channel.

You will help set the tech agenda on BikeRadar, writing, commissioning and editing news, reviews, opinion pieces, launch coverage and features.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced cycling journalist, editor or content creator with a deep understanding of cycling technology, new trends and future developments.

You will also be capable of dissecting the latest bikes and products, producing reviews that cut through the jargon to provide incisive buying advice for BikeRadars audience of millions of cyclists.

  • Write, plan, commission and edit across a range of formats, including news, buyers guides, explainers and features
  • Organise and contribute to the testing of the latest bikes and products
  • Monitor the performance of content, using data insights to plan future content
  • Work closely with the Technical Hub and Cycling Plus magazine to plan tech content
  • Contribute to the BikeRadar Podcast and YouTube channel
  • Attend launches, trade shows, races and industry events
  • Ensure BikeRadars tech coverage maintains the highest standards
Requirements
  • Experience working in digital journalism, ideally within cycling
  • A demonstrable passion for cycling and cycling technology
  • In-depth knowledge of road and gravel technology and trends
  • Excellent written English and communication skills
  • Competence in photography, podcasts and video
  • An understanding of SEO best practice and SEO tools
