SEND Teaching Assistant - Autism and Complex Needs

Milk Education are working with a large SEND school in the Newcastle to recruit Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with autism and associated disorders.

All pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs. The range of abilities stretches from Engagement Level to lower National Curriculum levels.

The School is a specialist school for pupils aged between 3-18 years with a diagnosis of Autism, located in the west end of Newcastle.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be responsible for supporting pupils on a 1-2-1 basis and implementing their EHCP and work closely with outside agencies and families.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • You must have previous experience supporting SEND pupils or a have an enthusiasm and passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • An understanding of Autism and associated disorders is desired
  • Previous experience in the past 2 years working with children or vulnerable adults (volunteer work welcome)
