Area Trainer

Location:Cornwall and Devon
Salary:£28,000 plus excellent benefits inc car user allowance

Are you an innovative, engaging Area Trainer within the area of Education, Skills and Employment

We are looking for an area trainer at Level 5 to actively engage with and produce quality content for our learners within our Devon and Cornwall Education, Employment and Wellbeing services

Deliver outcomes:

  • Deliver training to staff in relation to the Education sector in line with Ofsted regulations. This includes the delivery of the award in Education and Teaching (Levels 3 upwards) and safeguarding children
  • Support our employment services through bespoke training courses
  • Deliver course content via scheduled tutorial sessions, including online and face to face teaching, using a range of robust and engaging teaching strategies.
  • Promote debate and discussion of course content in a way that upholds the principles of academic freedom and promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs.
  • Work flexibly, undertaking training and development and such other tasks as maybe required or directed from time to time to meet the needs of the College.
  • Liaise with local area admin teams as well as the Operational Learning and Development & Practice Coordinator in organising and planning training in line with national and local policy and procedures.
  • To promote the importance of quality training and encourage engagement of staff in this process.
  • Liaise with the Principal/ Head Teacher and the Training Manager in relation to any future development needs for frontline staff following attendance at training.
  • Appraise attendees on courses and feedback to Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher ensuring personal development of staff
  • Raise any concerns regarding frontline training and attendees to the necessary Education and Employment managers, Head Teacher, Deputy Head and the Training Manager.

Ideas and solutions:

  • Innovate, promote and deliver, in consultation with staff teams and managers, adapting training styles to ensure that all staff are able to learn new skills from their training and promote best practice at all times.
  • Identify and respond to training needs within services by direct observations and offer holistic solutions that meet the needs of the team and the people we support.
  • A strong understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of teacher training

Building relationships:

  • To work in partnership with the Training Manager/ Principal/ Head Teacher, Deputy Head and Area Admin to ensure that staff teams are comprehensively trained within their area.
  • To devise Area Training Plans in partnership with the Training Manager, Training Coordinator based on area training needs
  • Attend Area L&D management team meetings periodically
  • The ability or potential to plan and develop high quality and supportive teaching and to foster skills development and confidence in Education Supports studying the Level 3 AET and Level 3 Job Coaching qualifications.

People:

  • To actively seek to model good practice and to promote the work of the College in order to maintain its high reputation.
  • The ability to offer high level support to staff in group tutorials and on a 1:1 basis.
  • Work closely with all employees of United Response to ensure that training is delivered effectively, received positively and implemented within the workplace.
  • Promotion of training activities across the geographic area, and if required outside of the area where in-house expertise may be required, thus offering a cost-effective solution.

Expertise/Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Post Grad Certificate in Education PGCE / Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
  • The candidate will need to demonstrate a solid knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as well as experience of developing and delivering CPD/ Training within educational settings.
  • Experience of delivering Level 3 or above study programmes within HE institutions.
  • Experience of mentoring within an educational setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point
  • Car driver and access to own vehicle

Desirable:

  • Experience of training delivery in a specialist college/school environment
  • Experience of using zoom, MS Teams, Google Classrooms and Learning management systems/databases

The candidate will need to have the following qualifications:

  • Post Grad Certificate in Education -PGCE
  • Level 5 in Education & Teaching,
  • First Aid at Work
  • Safeguarding Children and Adults
