Learning Coach - Children Young People & Families Practitioner

Total People are looking to recruit a Learning Coach who will be responsible for assessing and supporting learners who are undertaking the Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards.

This post, is offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week, however consideration will be given to any part time applications. You will be required to visit apprentices in their workplace support them to use the knowledge that they have gained through the apprenticeship into their job role. The learning coach will support the apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required to be demonstrated within the apprenticeship. This will consist of coaching and mentoring sessions, knowledge delivery through teaching sessions that will be run online and face to face, reviewing apprentices progress against the learning plan. You will be required to complete guidance and mock end point assessments to ensure that apprenticeships are ready for the independent assessment at the end of their apprenticeship.

You will need to have worked within a children's and young peoples setting and have the competencies within these settings to be able to assess the Knowledge, skills and behaviours in this standard.

You will be responsible for assessing and supporting apprentices that work for various employers across the North West with a couple in Greater Manchester. This will include completing observations/coaching and mentoring/professional discussions/functional skills. Please note as Total People are primarily based in the Northwest, there will be occasion requirements to visit our other centres in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Although working remotely you will become an integral part of the Health and Social Care delivery team.

Essential

  • Relevant occupational sector experience and relevant qualifications (at a level higher than delivery), and/or current updated CPD
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT or equivalent, or willing to undertake
  • Ability to deliver high quality, effective coaching that meets learner needs
  • Excellent level of skills in written and oral and presentational areas, understanding the importance of focus on the audience to support learning
  • Ability to plan, paying attention to detail and a track record in developing and delivering robust, effective, prioritised plans which achieve KPIs and strategic aims
  • Proactively drive learner performance and engagement
  • To be customer focused, having the ability to present Total People in a positive manner, persuading and influencing where necessary
  • Seeks continuous improvement - seeks to improve processes and implement and embed changes
