Nursery Room Leader

Babies Room Leader

Ridgemount Cottage Nursery has been a centre of excellence in care and learning for young children since 1994, highly rated by OFSTED in all areas.

We are a happy, family run and outdoor focused nursery, set in the idyllic surroundings of our thatched cottage and its acre of grounds: which themselves offer fantastic learning opportunities for our children. Situated at the heart of Brockworth, weve always fostered close links with the village community and care passionately about the need for sustainability in all its forms.

And now, because of our continuing success, were expanding into that beautiful cottage, adapting it to meet the increasing demand for places.

Thats why we need an Experienced Nursery Practitioner to join our enthusiastic team of able and dedicated colleagues who love what they do.

Were looking for someone who believes in the four pillars of our ethos:

Children explore the world around us. And we have so much for them to explore here. We use our extensive outdoor area for children to learn through gardening, woodland play, composting, bug hunts, and den building. They should be able to run, fall on grass and use hand tools. We need you to assist in this and enhance learning where possible.

Open-ended activities and games are provided, in which children can understand, discover, and explore the world around them. Effective continuous provision should allow many opportunities to support and scaffold each childs learning and development while they are engaged in their chosen activities.

Are you able to encourage children in independence in making choices in their everyday routine? We support children to make friendships and relationships, creating sociable, happy children who will be confident making friends in the next stage of their journey, whether thats at Ridgemount or school.

Being family-run and at the centre of a community since 1994 has its benefits. We have Church visits, Library visits, Coffee mornings at the community centre, trips to the retirement home and much more (Covid dependent). We want children to love their close community as well as their larger one, we are working towards helping the charities we support such as The Wildlife Trust and engaging with our twinned school in Tanzania through our YouTube channel.

So, if you believe in the importance of play as a key principle of learning in early childhood, and in developing young childrens independence, encouraging their natural interests and healthy activities, we want to hear from you.
