QHSE Advisor


RINA are currently seeking a Quality, Health Safety and Environment Advisor (QHSE) to support the provision of a high quality and professional QHSE service across the RINA business. This role will be based at our brand-new office and laboratory facility in Leatherhead, where you will gain practical experience as well as learning new skills and working across different departments and disciplines, encountering a variety of interesting challenges. This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality, Health Safety and Environment Advisor to work with our teams to improve the standards of health and safety across the organisation and drive cultural change through all levels.

The Role

The QHSE Advisor will be responsible for ensuring that RINA and its employees meet and fulfil all their obligations under the relevant health and safety legislation:

preparation and delivery of QHSE training and inductions for new starters

engaging with Lab Managers and HSE champions regularly to help develop and embed a positive safety culture in our new Leatherhead facility and across other sites

taking responsibility for the QHSE Intranet page and supervising associated databases e.g., equipment records, calibration, and PAT Testing. Ensuring all content is made available to all staff and up to date

updating the companys Business Management System procedures

routinely reviewing legislation and procedures to ensure that the organisation is compliant and is striving for best practice and continual improvement

carry out internal audits and manage the audit database

supporting the production of risk assessments and safe systems of work

assisting with various facilities tasks and coordinating activities including liaising with landlords and facilities management where necessary

maintaining and ensuring the audit database is up to date and actions are completed in accordance with the BMS and its stated objectives

liaise with our partners in HR to develop our Wellbeing program, producing QHSE communications to share UK wide.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience within a similar role

NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ equivalent

ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and internal auditor experience is a plus

Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Experience with SharePoint

Experience of delivering training

Have a high level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation relating to business management systems

Ability to work in a team proactively, following company changes and improving the QHSE management systems and their application, with a positive approach to the increase of safety and security of personnel and of working groups case by case.Being aware of and participating in the importance of the role played in cooperation with all the company staff

Always representing the department and the wider company with the highest levels of professionalism

Proven ability to communicate at all levels in an approachable and professional manner, making good networking relationships that enable the smooth flow of work between departments

Demonstrated attention to detail in database management, drafting company processes and preparing audit reports

Consciously working to deadlines and keeping people informed of progress.

Self-management, the ability to prioritise workload. Make good use of available time and add value where possible

Ability to work on confidential and sensitive information and remain discreet at all times

High standard of written English ability to draw upon these skills when drafting company processes, audit reports and other QHSE documentation
