What is involved in The GIS Specialist Role?
As a GIS (Geographical Information Systems) Specialist in our busy and expanding Geomatics team you assist to manage on GIS requirements throughout all life-cycle stages in relation to large scale Utilities & Infrastructure projects.
Working in collaboration with the team, produce consistently high quality, error free maps and data for internal and external clients in support of wide ranging, fast paced projects, including land ownership, access, utility routing, and legal plans on time and within budget to maintain company standards
Working in collaboration with the team, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients
Take a proactive interest in one or more of the following and establish how this can be utilised for best company benefit through project efficiency and or additional service offerings to clients;

Work independently on and manage projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work.
Develop and maintain own knowledge and skills via company run and wider training and CPD and, if working towards professional qualification, take responsibility for own learning and progress, scheduling progress review meetings and maintaining an up to date record of activities.
Carry out work in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies.
Be commercially aware, maintain good records and requests to provide regular client updates and ensure accurate billing
Be able to accurately assess the time requirements of a request and be confident in advising clients and surveyors
