Summary
Reports to the assistant director of facilities and is responsible for planning, staffing, directing, and coordinating employees and contractors in the areas of Fire detection/suppression systems, smoke detection/mitigation systems, security systems support, video and access controls, IT infrastructure support, and back of house technical systems relating to lighting and utility work in a 24/7 operation. Provides technical consulting and support to the enterprise and stakeholders for said equipment/systems. Initiates/directs technical changes and process improvements to ensure a safe, comfortable, and over-all high-quality environment in the most energy and cost-efficient manner. The facility manager stays abreast of industry standards and best practices and incorporates changes into operation. Is a member of the Business Continuity Plan recovery team.
Oversees and ensures efficient, safe operations related to facilities at the Franklin, Milwaukee campuses and the corporate hanger. Also compliments the on-site manager in NY as a consultant. Manages 1st and 2nd shift employees and responsible for 24/7 operations. Responsible for the effective management of staff and continued work towards furthering our focus on diversity and inclusion.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Works with Team lead in coordinating and directing the day-to-day diverse activities for the Franklin and Milwaukee campuses. Ensures, initiates, and directs technical changes and process improvements of all responsible assets. Supports Franklin and Milwaukee campuses by providing technical expertise directly and through outside resources, research changes to laws and best practices relating to OSHA, and other applicable codes and standards to ensure compliance and safety for staff, employees, and the public. Creates, implements, and monitors programs because of industry changes and best practices. Partners with the Information Systems department in support of the data center and BAS systems. Oversee preventive maintenance and service work order resolution and performance for proper completion and resolution
Independently leads and/or may be a subject matter expert for projects, including responsibility for managing the scope, budget, and schedule. Will develop construction specifications, cost estimates, project timelines as well as overseeing projects to ensure completion criteria are within scope. Drives employee development and works with state indentured programs relating to apprenticeships.
Negotiates and communicates with internal clients regarding facility operation issues involving both day to day and project related concerns. Establishes and maintains positive vendor contacts to assure continuous, effective facility operations. Proficient in Microsoft office suite, and CAFM systems of record.
