Supply Chain Operations Project Lead

Ready to join one of the truly great companies in Ireland? We have a really exciting job opportunity for a Senior Project Lead based in Cork.

The company is expected to grow its product portfolio and manufacturing needs significantly over the next 5 years it is critical that our Global Supply Chain can support this growth and increased complexity. The Network 26 Program has been set up to manage these changes and is one of the key strategies (pillars) of our Global Delivering Excellence Program.

The individual will be expected to manage strategic Operations projects aimed at ensuring the site is set up to support this revenue growth. Projects of this type include (but are not limited to) Ship Direct to Customer Regions, Manufacturing and 3PL Product Flow Changes, Sterilisation Capacity/Resiliency & Packaging & Low Carbon Shipping Mode changes.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
Prepares project plans, schedules and budgets by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
Completes financial analysis to support key strategy decisions.
Works cross functionally to gain support for key initiatives.
Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
Assures project quality by using standard development methodologies and by working with SQA to develop and execute project quality plans.
Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
Resolves project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
Consults with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
Participates in external project management organizations, conferences and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.Education and Experience:

NFQ level 8 degree (240 credits) in a Technical discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, Software, Manufacturing); a Qualification in Project Management and/or a Level 9 (Masters) would be an advantage.
4+ years of project management in an Operations or New Product Development environment.
Supply Chain experience and knowledge of Supply Chain Systems considered an advantage (e.g. SAP, Rapid Response etc.)
Experience in the medical devices industry is an advantage.
A formal Project Management qualification or certification is an advantage.
