Our leading US law firm client is seeking a permanent Business Development Specialist to join their London team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to join a busy and fast-paced team. The successful Business Development Specialist will take a role supporting the firm's private investment funds team in London, in addition to supporting the ESG, litigation, restructuring, employment and tax practices. The Business Development Specialist will report to the Senior Business Development Manager for London and work closely with other Client Development departments, including the Events Team, New Business Team, Communications Team and BD Research Team, on a global basis as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Support the day-to-day business development operations for private investment funds, ESG, litigation, restructuring, employment and tax.Project manage cross-selling initiatives, including through internal communications that promote recent successes and other relevant developments.Lead in the preparation of new business presentations, proposals and RFP responses.Analyse client, prospect, industry and market research and help identify trends. Partner with the PR team to refine and progress the industry groups' visibility objectives and provide guidance and ideas on key hot topics and industry trends.Independently project manage various sector specific and/or firm strategic initiativesPartner with Senior Business Development Manager and Events team to plan and manage practice events such as seminars, conferences, client events, and webinars, including internal and external communications, marketing planning, and follow-up activities. Regularly liaise with lawyers and firm-wide business development colleagues to successfully complete events.Proactively collect feedback after events and encourage follow-up activities. Report on return on investment.Lead in the drafting of legal directory and awards submissions in coordination with other key team members. Provide advice on best practices in this area.Liaise with lawyers to create and publish various articles, client alerts and newsletters. Collect, organize and maintain client lists, industry experience and related matter data in the Firm's experience database.Support in regard to budget planning and evaluation year-on-year.Track memberships and sponsorships, ensuring the firm capitalize on their commitments.Recommend and facilitate opportunities to enhance both individual lawyers and practices and increase the Firm's visibility with target clients.Help develop content for digital channels to ensure specific firm brand and leading individuals have web prominence.Work with the CRM team to maintain client contact information and mailing lists.Collaborate with the team on developing, refining and sharing firm-wide client development protocols, procedures and best practices The successful candidate will have previous Marketing & BD experience within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong written and numerical skills and the ability to present complex information and concepts in a clear and concise manner is essential.
