Provide strategic planning and direction for the maintenance and enhancement of the academic information structure for SSW. Play a lead role in overseeing effective communication and change management processes to drive improvements in class scheduling, exception processing, registration, transcript ordering, and other essential registrar services, supervise degree audit processing, compliance monitoring, enrollment verification and transcript production. Demonstrate leadership and set a high standard of professionalism by providing customer service to students, alumni, faculty, the office of the Deans, and College staff.Foster a team environment within the Office of the SSW Registrar and work collaboratively with the Smith College Office of the Registrar. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary College team on the ongoing enhancement of data systems (Workday) in support of the SSW Registrar and allied offices. Provide leadership in student information and data management for both degree and non-degree programs in accordance with College policies and procedures.
Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment, and work actively in all areas of responsibility to advance SSW's values and its embrace of SSW's five guiding principles.

Provide administrative leadership and management of the SSW Office of the Registrarin alignment with the school's five Core Principles. Oversee the scheduling and registration process and record keeping for all degree and non-degree programs.Resolve student concerns in accordance with all applicable laws, policies, and practices. Advise on the development of relevant policies and procedures to students and SSW/college faculty/staff. Monitor and provide updates to the Faculty and Deans regarding federal and state legislation, as well as institutional policies and procedures. Serve as the SSW representative at various functions and events with other campus departments, organizations, and/or committees, as assigned.
Manage the ongoing implementation and upgrade of the student information system. Identify and recommend opportunities to use technology and/or refine business processes to increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with College registrar and Workday Team on systems compatibility and the continued enhancement of the implementation and use of the student information system. Develop annual audits of processes/procedures to maintain the security and integrity of student data. Develop and oversee documentation of office processes and procedures and train registrar's office staff on standards.
Oversee the monthly calendar and day-to-day processes of the SSW Registrar's Office, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and thorough way. Establish and administer processes and procedures for student records management, archiving, and destruction, in accordance with established regulations, policies, and standards. Monitor student academic standing, probation, and suspension; certify completion of graduation requirements. Monitor international student enrollment and program change status; liaise with the Office of International Students & Scholars as necessary
Supervise office personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Participate in the development of annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the unit. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of professional full-time experience in a Registrar's Office, Information Technology Office, or other closely aligned office in higher education or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Experience working with curriculum development and experience with Banner or Workday or other student information systems and reporting tools preferred. Master's degree preferred.
Demonstrated record of commitment to practices embodied by the School's Core Principles preferred.
Experience and facility with data warehousing and management and the development of data reports. Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and establish priorities and goals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Commitment to principles and practices that promote social and racial justice. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of student records management principles, federal and state regulations, academic policies, processes, and procedures. Familiarity with Workday a plus.
