The Classroom Success Specialist will provide exceptional service and support for Learning Experience at the Polytechnic campus. This involves working closely with faculty and students to ensure that their teaching and learning experience exceeds expectations. Successful candidates will have demonstrative knowledge of technology trends and pedagogical practices in education, experience providing operational excellence, and a passion for customer service.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting with classroom and computing site operations
  • Assisting faculty with the successful delivery of their course content using the latest classroom technologies and learning strategies
  • Developing and fostering collaborative relationships with faculty to maximize their classroom experience
  • Developing an expertise in and actively promoting existing instructional offerings that support faculty and students (One-Button Studios, Clickers, workshops, etc.)
  • Setting up, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and multimedia equipment
  • Maintaining classroom and computing site environments
  • Developing and delivering faculty training, including self-help documents, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials, to assist faculty with the use of learning experience platforms
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network, and video conferencing issues
  • Maintaining records, supplies, and inventory
  • Leading, mentoring, training, and evaluating the performance of student employees based on established procedures
  • Taking responsibility for fostering culture, advancing our values, and championing engagement in all its forms -- collaborating across our teams as well as participating in UTO/ASU events and programs.   • May perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Work hours are Tuesday – Saturday, First Shift

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in technology or related field AND two years of experience providing information technology services; OR Four years of experience providing information technology services; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience providing excellent service to a diverse customer base, preferably in an educational setting
  • Experience either working with educators and/or teaching/training others in a classroom setting
  • In-depth experience implementing and working with a variety of classroom technologies
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to diverse stakeholder groups: faculty, students, staff and administrators
  • In-depth knowledge of Apple and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience working in a lead position, including supervision of others
  • Experience working with internal groups and outside vendors to collaborate on projects, problem solve, or design solutions
  • Experience managing cases in reporting systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow
  • Evidence of effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to model empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence
  • Experience working in a values-led organization, emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Ability to help foster a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting, and pushing objects of varying weights up to and over 100 pounds
