Food Cart - Full-Time Cook/Cashier

FOMO Chicken is a fried chicken food cart devoted to Korean and American Southern flavors established in 2017. We’re located in a food cart pod at 113 SE 28th Avenue.  We’re hiring for a full-time position for 4 days on and 3 days off.

 Full Time Position Schedule

·        4 day work week, working Wednesday through Saturday.

·        Approximately 35- 40 hours a week.

·        Shifts start at 10am or 12pm and ends at 8pm or 9:30pm.   


Compensation and Benefits

·        $16.50 to $19 per hour plus tips.

·        Tips are split evenly between all hourly employees and range between $7 to $15 per hour. 

·        We provide subsidized health and dental insurance to all full-time employees over 32 hours a week. 

·        2 weeks paid time off for all full-time employees when we close for our winter holiday break.


·        ***Must have Current Food Handler’s Card***

·        Have at least 1 to 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced food service environment.

·        Experience in cleaning and maintaining commercial fryers.

·        Knowledge of Multnomah County public health and sanitation laws.

·        Great customer service skills and communication skills.

·        Previous experience writing prep lists.

·        Strong attention to detail.

·        Understand the importance of working with a sense of urgency.

·        Come to work with a positive, professional attitude.


Job Description

This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Accurately and efficiently follow recipes and cook items to order.

·        Maintain excellent knowledge of the FOMO Chicken menu.

·        Clean and maintain commercial fryers.

·        Communicate prep list and notes via smartphone app.

·        Maintain all relevant food safety procedures.

·        Accurately and efficiently take orders from customers in a friendly and positive manner.

·        Move safely and efficiently in a cramped, hot kitchen environment.

·        Adhere to closing and cleaning procedures.

·        Maintain a level head in a fast-paced kitchen.

·        Routinely lift products, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
