Job Title: Teller

Job Location: Staten Island, NY

Branch: New Dorp Branch

Job Status: Part-Time

Job Summary:

Provide exceptional customer service, including prompt and accurate transaction processing, with focus on establishing new customer relationships and retaining and growing existing customer relationships.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Accept and accurately process all financial service transactions within bank policies, procedures and regulations
  • Build trust and respect with customers by identifying and resolving customer issues and providing a positive customer experience
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all current products and services to effectively assist customers on a daily basis
  • Contribute to branch goals by identifying sales opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services; Execute on sales opportunities by making product suggestions based on customer needs and referring to the appropriate branch representative
  • Maintain responsibility for cash drawer and follow proper balancing/reconciling procedures
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times by maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor even during challenging situations
  • Cross train on other functions in the branch based on business need
  • Maintain a satisfactory level of attendance, which includes keeping unscheduled absences to a minimum, arriving to work on time on scheduled work days, and remaining on duty during the entire scheduled work period
  • Compliance with all relevant Bank policies and procedures
  • May require occasional travel for business meetings or training.
  • Management may authorize transfers to other branches based on business need.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Operating an Adding Machine required
  • Good Computer Skills required
  • Previous Teller Experience preferred
  • Prior customer service skills preferred
  • Prior cash handling skills preferred
  • Selling to customers' needs preferred
  • Excellent communications and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift and transfer coin bag (approximately 30 lbs.)
