Associate, Digital Advertising


The Associate, Digital Advertising will report to the Senior Manager , Digital Advertising and work closely with all members of USA for UNHCR's Digital and Direct Response teams to manage digital advertising projects and assist in strategy development and execution. USA for UNHCR's advertising program is focused on fundraising and acquiring new donors. We're looking for someone passionate about creating innovative campaigns and achieving revenue goals.


  • Assists in development of successful digital advertising strategy and creative across channels including Display, Search, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Leads execution of fundraising, advocacy, and lead generation advertising campaigns across departments, and identifies and acts on opportunities to optimize performance
  • Evaluate paid media performance and produces timely reports to optimize campaigns and to inform future fundraising and lead generation strategies
  • Responsible for online strategy planning and implementation, community and partnership outreach and engagement efforts, both online and offline
  • Project management: Keep task lists, develop meeting agendas, establish creative archive and manage campaign launch timelines as well assists with external partners
  • Assists in developing and executing testing for paid media campaigns
  • Produces source codes and other digital assets as needed
  • Stay on top of the latest digital advertising trends, networks and formats
  • Assists the Senior Manager, Digital Advertising, in other related tasks, as needed


  • 1-3 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's Degree highly desirable
  • Ability to juggle and multitask on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about fundraising and donor acquisition
  • Applies in-depth professional-level knowledge to independently solve a full range of complex problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to review data to inform new strategies
  • Experience with digital advertising on platforms such as Facebook and Google is preferred, but not required
  • Background in digital communications, fundraising, advertising, and/or marketing is preferred, but not required
  • Video and photo editing skills are preferred, but not required
  • Extensive background and knowledge of refugees and related issues required
  • Understanding of the UN system and the various agencies and NGO partners associated with humanitarian work preferred
  • Good handle on all current global and political affairs that impact refugees, humanitarian issues, and American politics preferred
  • Must be self-sufficient and self-motivated
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and strong decision-making skills
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence when interacting with employees, peers and vendors
  • Ability to inspire and motivate employees
  • Ability to be diplomatic when making decisions and creating solutions
  • Demonstrates passion for U4U's mission


$58,524 - $65,026


Hybrid - Washington, DC + May also involve travel to some locations within the company's region of operations and select donor locations.
