Co-Curricular Competencies of the job: Job Description
You will work on a team and independently to help students activate and use the Handshake platform and other job boards.
You may assist with resume review referrals, class presentations on Career related material, and Career Champion Recruitment of Faculty, recruiting students to attend job fairs and events answering phones and writing professional emails, inviting employers to participate in events, directing students to the appropriate resources. You will be part of a diverse workforce and will assist students and alumni from diverse backgrounds. You will actively contribute to the blog and social media strategy of the department.(Social and Intercultural Competency)
You will use Handshake technology (our job board) , Wordpress, Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Canva and others to create engagement. (Technology Competency)
You will manage your time effectively ensuring the optimal amount of student contact through student club presentations, classroom presentations and career success center events. You will assist in devising a plan to reach students and engage them. (Critical Thinking)
You must be able to communicate both in person and online with students and alumni and be comfortable providing presentations and talking to people you may not know yet. (Communication)
You will ask for meetings with clubs and provide presentations as the representative from the Career Success Center. You will book the facilities to host the presentations and post those on the Career Success Calendars and announce/promote the events. At those sessions, you will be dressed according to the audience. (Leadership)
