Job Summary

The Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and refining a comprehensive training program to equip chapter leaders, chapter members, and campaign supporters to successfully fulfill CRS' movement building and issues-based campaigning strategy across all key audience segments.

The Specialist will design bi-lingual and bi-cultural (English and Spanish) curricula and training modules in close collaboration with the national advisors and field teams. The Specialist serves as a member of the campaign team lead management group to identify and implement initiatives to strengthen and support the campaign team and improve our collective efforts to execute successful campaigns within CRS' movement building strategy. The Specialist will work closely with other members of the campaign team to ensure training resources are fully aligned with issues-based and emergency campaigns and drive toward key actions.

This job will be responsible for exploring and developing digital and offline resources in support of chapters, campaigners, and field offices across a wide range of geographical location. The Specialist will operate with a continuous improvement mindset to update and refine resources to best suit the dynamic needs of our movement building activities.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a leadership training and development theory of change to serve as the foundation for a training strategy

  • Develop bi-lingual and bi-cultural (Spanish and English) training curricula and resources in close coordination with bilingual writing team

  • Design overall structure and delivery of training materials (sequencing, coordinated on-line and offline content, etc.) for implementation by Advisor II for Leadership Development, Advisor II for Volunteer Management, Advisor II for University Engagement, Advisor II for Clergy Outreach, Advisor II for Hispanic Engagement and other M2 team members

  • Curate training and resource materials as part of any online/digital platform to ensure accurate, timely and effective dissemination to the training team

  • Ensure chapter and campaign materials are fully aligned with issues-based campaigns and action pillars

  • Partner with Advisor II for Leadership Development, Advisor II for Volunteer Management, Advisor II for University Engagement, Advisor II for Clergy Outreach, Advisor II for Hispanic Engagement and field teams, Advisor II for Program Quality and Design, and M2 Strategy & Operations teams to test, update, improve, and develop new resources on an ongoing basis

  • Ensure staff training team is equipped to train field staff in use of training materials with key volunteer leaders

  • Partner with Advisor II Program Quality and Design, Action Manager, Content Manager, Manager II for Overops Integration, Director I M2 Campaigns to support cohesive integration of campaign and movement building strategy as member of campaign team lead management group

Basic Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Bachelors' degree in theology, education, instructional design or related field. Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience producing training material for individuals and groups

  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience with complex national volunteer programs

Required Languages- Excellent English verbal and written communications skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Travel- Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% in the US and overseas, as necessary.
