CAD/BIM Coordinator

The Company has met complex electrical construction requirements for projects in diverse market sectors, including: corporate, commercial, educational, institutional, healthcare, and public facilities. MEC also provides clients with expert in-house estimating and design/build capabilities, including CAD and BIM.

Postion Overview:

The CAD/BIM Coordinator is responsible for generating and managing complete digital models of electrical systems for a wide variety of building types

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate and/or manage digital models utilizing AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP software
  • Ability to understand and produce complete electrical installation and prefabrication drawings
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, or NFPA 70
  • Experience in Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry
  • Ability to collaborate with other Sub-Contractors, as well as the General Contractor to detect and resolve design clashes utilizing Navisworks, prior to installation
  • Ability to read, understand and review electrical submittals to produce 3D models for design coordination
  • Ability to complete tasks based on direction by others with minimal supervision
  • Ability to attend and represent the company at project coordination meetings
  • Travel to jobsites as required to collaborate with our field and project management team
  • Manage and use coordination, scheduling, file sharing and collaboration platforms
  • Ability to perform well within strict deadlines to meet project schedules
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities on a regular basis
  • Possess a self-motivated mindset
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative/team environment
  • High-level problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associates/Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • AutoCAD MEP
  • Revit MEP 2017-2021
  • Navisworks Manage
  • Bluebeam Revu
  • Knowledge of Autodesk BIM 360 Platform
  • Basic knowledge of Revizto
  • Basic knowledge of Trimble Total Station
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word & Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
