Promote and ensure the development of advisory services within the assigned region to help dairy producers increase their productivity and profitability. He/she is also responsible for stimulating the adoption of the analysis and follow-up tools available at Lactanet. The Dairy Production Advisor plays an important role in disseminating knowledge, guiding producers in their decision-making process, in the implementation of the selected solutions and ensuring follow-up to measure success.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop a relationship of trust with producers
- Assist the client in determining their goals and follow up on progress on a regular basis.
- Make visits to the barn, observe the animals and their environment at each visit to the client.
- Enter data directly at the farm and print relevant reports.
- Provide consulting services related to Lactanet's fields of expertise using various software and tools
- Inform clients of the various services and products offered by Lactanet. Focuses on services that can solve problems faced by the producer and help him/her to achieve his/her production goals.
- Represent the company at public events in his/her region.
- Communicate customer requests and suggestions to appropriate personnel.
- Develop knowledge and skills in a specific field of intervention (large herds, robots, organic production, breeding, Jersey, etc.). Perform the various tasks in section 1 using his/her specific expertise.
- Attend training sessions and discussion groups, as well as self-study in order to maintain his/her knowledge and develop expertise in his/her various fields of intervention
• College diploma in Animal Production Technology, Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or any other equivalent training
• Minimum two years experience in a similar position • Bilingualism required for certain territories
• For employment in other Provinces, fluent in English both verbal and written
• Personal car and a valid Driver's License is required
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excels in sales and problem solving
