Commercial Finance Manager

Your new role
The Commercial Finance Manager is a key role in the fast-paced growth function, you will be constantly challenged and be part of a growing team, although you will be able to work from home 100% of the time. As an integral part of the central team, you will be contributing towards the growth of the business by supporting successful bids and a variety of key strategic projects. Led by the Head of Commercial Finance and with the support of a dedicated growing team you will work closely with stakeholders across the company, including Business Development, Service Development, Finance, Information Technology, Estates, People and Legal.
The role supports the development of a growth agenda and allows the delivery of tender analysis, strategic growth projects, and internal projects through the production of high-quality financial models and reports. The role is varied, occasionally time pressured and involves:
* Developing financial models and analysis using best practice to support tenders and strategic growth projects * Identifying, understanding and providing solutions to key issues specific to the project * Reading and assessing bid documentation and commercial contracts to determine risks and mitigations, opportunities, and feeding commercial requirements into the financial models * Liaising with key stakeholders to develop financial projections * Examining existing services from a finance and operational perspective to support new tender work * Interrogating assumptions, identifying anomalies, and gravitas to challenge where necessary * Ensuring accuracy of financial models particularly in relation to commercial contract, model mechanics, assumptions and reflection of operational model * Ability to draw on commercial expertise and inferring reasonable assumptions when definitive costs cannot be provided.

What you'll need to succeed
Skills * Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills * Able to manage your own time to complete various simultaneous projects * Providing analysis with high-degree of accuracy * Self-sufficient in prioritising and responding flexibly to frequent changing demands * Ability to cope under pressure and deliver to tight timescales
Knowledge * Degree level with strong academic credentials or ability to demonstrate equivalent technical knowledge * Accomplished in all Microsoft Office * Applications - particularly Word, Excel and Power Point * Advanced Microsoft Excel inc. scenario modelling, dynamic formula, indirect, data validation, named ranges, advanced charts, sparklines, index/match, sumifs, automation and presentation techniques * Working knowledge of financial and managements accounts including P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheets
Experience * Financial modelling and detailed analysis in excel * Able to synthesise and present information to senior stakeholders * Able to work credibly with senior managers and form strong personal relationships
Personal Attributes * Flexibility to work off site on occasion and committed to go the extra mile to get key projects over the line * Passionate about healthcare and financial modelling with a zeal to learn and teach. Knowledge * Qualified Accountant is desirable * VBA/Macros is desirable * Experience in modelling workforce (FTE)
Experience * Professional experience in a comparable sector, NHS, social care or independent sector * Experience in assessing and feeding into commercial contracts is desirable
