Event Coordinator




The World Athletics Championships Oregon22 will take place July 15-24, 2022, in Eugene, Oregon. The best track and field athletes in the world will come together in a celebration of diversity, human potential, and athletic achievement. The Championships will showcase world-class athletes in action across multiple venues and track and field disciplines, marathons, and race walks, and are being held in the U.S. for the very first time. As the local organizing committee, Oregon22, LLC, has responsibility for staging the World Championships (WCH Oregon22) as 2,000 athletes from over 200 nations will compete and realize a lifelong dream of running, jumping, or throwing for glory.

WCH Oregon22 is actively recruiting for Event Coordinator to support the various complex activities, venues, and partner programs throughout the ten days of this event. This position will work as a key member of the WCH Oregon22 team in both planning internally and externally, and transition into event-time execution role(s). Existing ability to work in the U.S.A is required.


  • Support the development of an overall event-day experience for one or more constituent groups attending or participating with the World Athletics Championships Oregon22.
  • Assist with the planning and operations across all areas of the World Championships
  • Help ensure unique event experiences for athletes, fans, media, broadcasters, World Athletics Family, workforce and all those attending or participating in the World Championships.
  • Communicate across internal and external teams to reach shared understanding and actionable plans.
  • Continuously seek out ideas and innovations that can enhance the execution of the event.
  • Develop tools and materials (including presentations, reports, manuals, guides, etc.)
  • Coordinate and motivate event-time contractors, and volunteers.
  • Manage scheduling, equipment and inventory needs and be able to concisely share and communicate these in appropriate timing.
  • Support the leadership team with other projects and responsibilities as may be requested.

Work Location: Employment will be in person at Oregon22 Headquarters, Eugene, OR

  • Bachelor's degree achieved, or equivalent experience in relevant subject


  • 2+ years in sports, festivals, events, or complex project-based environments
