Dining & Events Captain ***$500 Signing Bonus***

Westwood Country Club is a premier family-oriented athletic club located in central Austin that provides a variety of quality services and activities for the recreation and dining needs of members.

Position Summary:

Supports the Director of Catering and Events, Executive and Sous Chefs, Assistant Managers, and the Catering and Events Coordinator by carrying out essential duties for the set-up and execution of dining and/or special events at the Club. Performs a variety of guiding tasks to support catering and private event functions while overseeing service staff.

The ideal Candidate must have a working knowledge of dining and events. Must be able to communicate and anticipate member and host needs. A true team player who enjoys leading and developing a team and is committed to success.

Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*

- Oversee, coach and assist service staff with event set-up, service and break-down - Train staff on proper buffet set-up and maintain banquet equipment; help with keeping par inventory of all service items and equipment

- Attend weekly BEO meetings with Food and Beverage management to review upcoming events - Continually keep track of and relay to wait staff, event additions and changes as communicated by the Catering Department

- Help assist in other areas of F&B club operations such as shift lead roles in dining areas and poolside café

- Additional duties as assigned by Director of Catering and Events or Assistant Managers


$23 hourly

This is a Full-Time, non-exempt hourly position; hours will fluctuate based on scheduled events. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekend and holidays.

Education and/or Experience: State Food Handler’s Certification, TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) certification required. Previous banquet experience preferred.

Physical Demands: This position requires standing, walking, carrying/holding, pushing/pulling kneeling/squatting, twisting/turning, reaching, bending/stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift at least forty pounds regularly.
