Project Manager - Pharmaceutical

AKKA Group North America is looking for a Project Manager - Pharmaceutical who would like to join a dynamic and growing company in Montreal and Toronto, to support one of its customers. The position is to be filled in Toronto, as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads in the development/implementation of Client’s project management principles and good engineering practices by utilizing analytical techniques to proactively manage resource/project constraints.
  • Works with Engineering Services Department leadership, suppliers and contractors to recommend solutions and determine best action.
  • Manages large, complex projects with multiple diverse stakeholders.
  • Oversees the compliance of all team members, consultants and contractors to corporate policies, regulatory guidelines and statutory standards.
  • Ensures adherence to KPMs by team members.
  • Provide project planning, including proof of concept, scope definition, estimating, design, construction/equipment execution and resourcing for Client in the area of production equipment and related technologies.
  • Acts as a technical resource to the team providing troubleshooting and problem resolution for existing systems.
  • Oversees development of detailed project schedules in collaboration with team members. Self-sufficient in creating and maintaining project schedules which reflect the realistic and unique project attributes and forward-looking evolution of the overall project approach.
  • Monitors and controls manufacturing team deliverables, ensuring quality as per the Client’s quality standards.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams involving internal peers in other functional areas on initiatives relating to their own functional area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree; Professional Engineering/ Project Management Professional designation would be an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with proven capital or technical leadership capability

  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated Project and Construction Management knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of project controls systems
  • Experience in commissioning and validation of facility systems and high-speed production and packaging systems
  • Experience in leading and influencing the activities and interaction of project team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to internal and external customers

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience with proven capital or technical leadership capability
  • Strong organizational skills
