Supervisor, Production

Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
  • Provide leadership and training to the employees.
  • Manage monthly quality reviews.
  • Perform accident investigations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Manage department priorities.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Manage all employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, coaching and developing, performance management, hiring of the employees within its department and any other employee relation issues.


Minimum Skill Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Supervisory role.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • General knowledge of boat building and/or assembly in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements: Including, but not limited to: bending, climbing, crawling, stretching, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds. May work on knees, seated, laying down, standing up. May require individual to be in awkward positions.

Environmental Conditions: Exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions. May be exposed to acetone, putties, glues, adhesive cleaners, caulking, transmission fluids, lubricants.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: Safety Glasses. Closed-toed, closed-heeled rubber soled footwear, hearing protection.
