Digital Content Writer

Acquia is searching for a Digital Content Writer to join our communications and content team. The individual will be responsible for writing and editing short- and long-form, SEO-driven copy for Acquia's digital channels. This person will be able to seamlessly blend educational and promotional content to support our inbound efforts. Using a resourceful approach, this writer will work cross-functionally with teams throughout the company to ensure product details are described accurately while providing insightful content for our readers.

We are looking for experience in writing, editing, and proofreading content specifically related to digital technology, marketing, and customer experience. The content produced will be used by marketing and sales, including on our websites and blog, in marketing collateral, on our social channels, and more. It seeks to educate people about our products and related industry issues, giving readers the opportunity to conduct in-depth research before seeking one-to-one help. This writer will not only be comfortable writing about technology, but will also be able to connect it to larger trends in the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Write short- and long-form content for Acquia's digital channels, including blog posts, white papers, web pages, email, video scripts, and more.
  • Strong focus on inbound marketing content to drive SEO results with helpful, educational content.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand technical product details to be able to distill promotional content into helpful pieces that speak to customer pain points.
  • Manage work and projects from multiple sources to ensure objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate across functional areas on Acquia's marketing team to identify and execute new ways of reaching audiences.
  • Become highly proficient in publishing, editing, and managing content in the Drupal content management system.
  • Work with the Acquia content, digital, and demand generation teams to meet SEO objectives, including content analysis to help inform writing decisions.

Skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, writing, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related area
  • 3 years of experience in writing about technology for business and technical audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (writing samples will be required)
  • Experience and high comfort level working with technical information, including translating it into non-technical content
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple creative projects from start to finish
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work under deadlines
  • Exceptionally organized and meticulous
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of SEO and how best to optimize and analyze digital content
  • Knowledge of the marketing industry and digital technology trends, and experience writing on these topics is a plus
  • Experience working with Drupal or a similar content management system is also a plus
  • Work on US Eastern
