The Role Responsibilities

The role holder will:

  • Provide leadership to the Model Monitoring team in SCMAC, Bangalore focussing initially on implementation of model monitoring capabilities that are compliant with new EBA rules and later business use.
  • Developing the team to transition from Production to Analysis based monitoring through automation, change in focus and upskilling the team (through training).
  • Support the review of Model Monitoring outputs (similar to other principle risk types) with stakeholders (Business CROs and CPM) and it use in day to day portfolio management.
  • Provide support for the delivery of model monitoring capabilities on Models Analytics Platform (strategic infrastructure)


  • Responsible for the delivery of Model Monitoring reporting to stakeholders – both internal (in Business Risk and Business) and Regulators (PRA and local). The incumbent would be responsible to keep the Model Monitoring up to date in terms of compliance to new regulatory requirements. (Model Monitoring under latest regulations is more complex and there has been a significant increase in volume in terms of monitoring requirements as compared to current requirements. Model monitoring is model specific with an extensive reporting pack/ analysis and therefore requires detailed focus from a Senior Leader to support the evolving requirements
  • Support the Global Head Model Monitoring and Delivery in the development of ERA strategic plans and support driving new technology initiatives to drive ERA vision and purpose
  • Support the development team with post model adjustments (for models not performing) and re-development by identifying shortcomings

Other responsibilities

Supporting Analytics:

  • ODR Auto-calibration and PMA calculation (Retail)
  • Monitoring reports for local regulators including MAS, BaFIN, BOT, etc
  • Monitoring data support for local regulators i.e., HKMA, FSS, China, etc
  • Yearly SMF report support
  • Quarterly SICR assessment
  • Various reports for regulators both home and host


  • Communicate and provide relevant tailored Model Monitoring information to senior management and ERA teams explaining large complex quantitative data analytics at a level that will be understood by all Stakeholders
  • Understanding business/ business risk stakeholders expectations and external stakeholders (regulators)


  • Ownership of Model monitoring process from control perspective
  • Adherence to all relevant governance standards and nWoW (new Ways of Working)
