We are seeking a Clinical Registered Nurse Coordinator for a Full-time position to join our Medical Oncology Team. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will need to be open to working day, night, weekend and holidays. Our 35-bed Medical Oncology unit offers exceptional care for patients being treated for a variety of medical conditions including COPD, Chronic Heart Failure, Pneumonia and for those needing Radiation Therapy.    

As Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality, efficient care. You will model a commitment to the vision, mission and values of the organization to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Will function in a leadership role in the absence of the director.
  • Accountable for all phases of staff development including recruitment, orientation, retention, supervision, competency and professional growth.
  • Enforces department policies, procedures, protocols, regulations and standards.
  • Coordinates department PI program, outcomes management projects and other hospital initiatives as directed.’
  • Assists with and provides input to the director for employee performance management plans.’
  • Participates in appropriate hospital-wide committees where representation of the Medical Oncology area is necessary with direction from director.
  • Works with nursing staff and leadership to ensure all nurse sensitive quality metrics (including Core Measures and HCAHPS) are maintained above the national/NDNQI benchmark through process improvement, reduction in practice variation and evidence based practice. Actively participates in Service Excellence initiatives.  
  • Maintain flexibility in order to fill staffing gaps in work schedule. Supports staff by providing patient care by taking patient assignment as needed.


What qualifications you will need: 

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Indiana
  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
  • At least 3 years of acute care RN experience required with 2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Above average communication skills in all forms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
