Sub-System Design Engineer

MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow

MBDA are looking for Sub-system Designers to join a weapon sub-systems design team, reporting to the project Head of Sub-system!

The weapon sub-systems teams are looking for engineers of varying experience to join them with primary responsibilities that include:
Reviewing changes to the sub-system technical requirements specifications
Supporting and agreeing changes in the sub-system interface specifications
Authoring the sub-system software requirements specifications and management of the traceability through the requirement flow-down
Liaising with various partners including weapon systems team, system architects, software developers, software proving, trials, safety, and security
Developing and proposing changes to sub-system software design
Authoring of sub-system design documentation
Developing test specifications and verification plans for sub-system requirements
Verification and certification of the sub-system
Experience / Knowledge / Ability Requirements
Typically, candidates are expected to have an engineering or science degree (or equivalent qualification) and have applicable experience in some of the key skill-sets for the role. Previous experience in the aerospace/defence sector would be beneficial, but is not essential: a background in systems engineering, product development, software development, or similar discipline would be suitable. Experience working in a delivery-focussed environment would also be advantageous. Practitioners of SysML, Rhapsody and DOORS tools is desirable, but training/mentoring will be provided where needed.
What were looking for: Systems design/systems engineering experience in software or electronics/avionics
Experience developing or maintaining Complex Systems
Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience)
Applied experience in requirements definition and management
Proficient in the use of requirements management tools (ideally DOORS)
Proactive with a mind for product-line development and systems thinking.
