HR Consultant

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a HR Consultant on a 3 month contract with a possibility of an extension.

This position will be a total of 36 hours per week, with hours from 09:00am - 17:00pm.

Job Purpose:

Provide a high quality professional HR&OD service, advising and leading on a range of HR&OD activity e.g. complex casework, transformational change, workforce planning, and resourcing solutions under the direction of the Snr Consultants
Support the development of HR&OD policies, procedures and change programmesJob Specific Accountabilities:

To build and maintain constructive relationships with Trade Unions, assisting on corporate consultation or negotiation activities as appropriate
To participate in the impact assessment of reports, policies and procedures, as required
To provide timely and relevant analysis of HR&OD information to managers, in support of business objectives
To provide evidence at disciplinary and tribunal hearings, as required
To be responsible for specific service based HR&OD initiatives, e.g. briefings on absence or performance management
To agree development & delivery priorities with the Senior HRC (HR) or respective Heads of L & ODD and CP & P
To communicate with other Team members to ensure HR or L & ODD advice is of consistent high quality
To work flexibly across the Team and wider HR service, as required.
To continually look at external revenue opportunities and promote the oneSource profile.Person Specification:

Able to demonstrate and provide evidence for highly developed competence in:

Delivering a range of Operational HR services.
HR best practice in a local government setting.
Advising on HR policies and procedures and proposing recommendations for improvements.Knowledge, Experience:

CIPD or equivalent, or significant experience within HR / Learning & Organisational Design and Development profession.
Demonstrate knowledge of both HR policies and procedures and employment law.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other desktop IT applications.
Experience of building productive relationships with customers.
