Profile
As the Commercial Executive you will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, assisting in developing new revenues and promoting sales and other commercial related activities to increase sales growth profitability. This is not a cold calling role but more of an Account management role – where you liaise closely with the client following the process of engagement from concept to implementation, liaising with them and ensuring all contracts are fulfilled. Ideal background, oil & gas, shipping, material handling or heavy engineering, with some technical knowledge preferred but not essential. International travel experience would also be beneficial.
The Commercial Executive will:
* Have a minimum of 3 years in team managerial roles with proven leadership skills.
* Have a proven track record of assisting in the contract formation, tenders and rates, (leasing at all times
with the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director) and leading successful negotiations.
* Be willing to travel and work internationally, and so be culturally sensitive. 40% of your time will be overseas
* Visiting customer sites and going to events Dubai, Europe and South Africa
* Have good attention to detail and ability to work using own initiative where necessary.
* Have good communication skills.
* Have good analytical and a systematic approach.
* Be competent in Excel and preferably have had exposure to a CRM.
The Role
As the Commercial Executive you will be working within the shipping industry, so experience of this area would be an advantage. You will:
* Be assisting the Commercial Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager in Developing new revenues.
* Provide assistance and commercial direction to the business in order to ensure that business agreements are defined, executed and implemented in line with the business objectives.
* Develop appropriate contracting strategies for new business requirements including customer and supplier agreements and (where appropriate) assist in the contract formation and negotiation activity.
* Expand the customer base and identify and the development of strategic alliances with Key Clients and 3rd Parties.
* Assist in maintaining and managing the Group’s Marketing and Promotion Policy and On-line presence.
