Income Max Team Supervisor


The Income Max Team Supervisor supports the overall operations of income maximization services including assessments, case management, employment coaching and benefit applications as a means to increase income and housing stability. As a member of the SFH WFD leadership team, the Income Max Supervisor leads and works alongside a team of Employment Coaches and Asset Development Specialists and works collaboratively and holistically with individuals to identify, secure, and maintain employment that meets their interests and career goals. As a key SFH representative for the City of Boston Coordinated Entry initiative, they also take a lead role in conducting and overseeing Pathway Assessments for our guests.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Creates, models, and coaches staff in effective client outreach strategies that will engage individuals who may be ambivalent about seeking income growth and/or housing services.
  • Creates, models and coaches staff in effective client services strategies including effective job search techniques, job placement assistance, guidance that helps participants identify and address behaviors that may create barriers to getting or advancing in a job and ensuring participants have a realistic and supportive plan in place for a smooth transition to employment.
  • Supervises service deliver, staff activities and schedules to ensure timely completion of housing pathways assessments and assures progress towards employment and income growth.
  • Represents SFH in City wide meetings including COC Case Conferencing and Housing Work Partnership Teams.

Direct Care

  • Works collaboratively with guests on a caseload to create individualized employment plans and insures that they have the wraparound services and resources they need to achieve their goals
  • Conducts housing pathways assessments to align income maximization needs with the individual's identified housing pathway and support individuals to making progress on that housing pathway.
  • Meets with participants in the office (in person, by phone or virtually) as well as in the St. Francis House day shelter, other Boston shelter sites, and/or other community settings as needed.

  • Schedule – Eight hours a day, 5 days/week, primarily Monday through Friday within the hours of 7:30-4:30pm. Some extended evening and weekend hours may be necessary at times, and would be announced and scheduled in advance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in human services, social work or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in providing direct care services to homeless or vulnerable populations
  • Experience providing employment, career counseling, job training and/or other workforce development related services
  • Experience in a project or group team leadership role or a supervisory role preferred.

Lived experience of homelessness and/or recovery; Multi-lingual/multi-cultural; GLBT+ candidates encouraged to apply.
