Energy Scheme Managers - Renewable Energy

Our client is a government owned organisation, established to play a key role in the transformation of the UK's electricity system - ensuring future supply is secure, low-carbon and affordable as we progress to Net Zero 2050.

The organisation is the counterparty to the Contracts for Difference (CfD) and Capacity Market (CM), schemes, whereby low-carbon generation is supported in order to compete with conventional fossil fuel generation.

The company plays a pivotal role in managing these two schemes and ensuring that low carbon electricity is delivered efficiently, whilst minimising costs to consumers. The Scheme Management team has a key role within the company to help deliver its strategic objectives.
Scheme Management's role at the company is to provide commercial expertise to help guide the delivery and development of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) and Capacity Market (CM) schemes. This can range from developing the company's position on how the existing contracts can support innovation, through to helping to develop entirely new schemes like Power and Industrial Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS).

The Scheme Managers sits between the policy and contract management teams and will engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Skills/Experience required for these positions:
*Excellent stakeholder management skills
*Experience of managing contractual issues
*Commercial acumen; able to break down and explain commercial issues
*Great written and verbal communication skills

Ideal candidates will:
*have had some exposure to either Commercial and Contract Management or an understanding of how contracts are written.
*need to read policy documents and be comfortable asking questions.
*need to have really good stakeholder management skills and must be collaborative/ team player / self-starter
*have an interest in renewable energy.

The company can offer candidates at the junior end of the salary band good career progression and at the senior end, senior stakeholder engagement with counterparts in Central Government and Regulatory bodies and Private Sector generators.

For the junior roles it's not necessary to have industry experience.
