Quality Assurance Technician

QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN

We are currently looking to recruit 2 Permanent QA Technicians within our Quality department at our Chirnside facility.

General Function & Scope

The role of the QA Technician will be to provide assistance to Production with QA and process control activities. Environmental testing, quality audits, hygiene audits, laboratory equipment calibration, and maintenance will also be key activities.

Accountability Objective

The successful candidate will work within a small team overseeing the QA test information generated by the Production Teams as well as providing assistance with certain test properties. Maintaining safety, quality, environmental, and hygiene standards is a key component. The individual will be actively involved in LEAN team activities, focusing on minimising waste, potential customer complaints, and credits.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental procedures Overseeing the QA test data and coordinating the QA samples generated daily off each line
Calibrating and maintaining the QA laboratory test equipment and assist with the calibration of other quality measurement instruments
Performing routine environmental testing
Performing routine process control checks to assist the Production Teams
Conducting quality and hygiene audits
Monitoring “stopped” (held) material and assist with all dispositions
Assisting the training of individuals with regards to our Quality and Hygiene Systems
Actively participate in and potentially leading LEAN team activities focused on minimising waste and credits related to customer complaints
Liaising closely with the Production Teams.
Maintaining 5s standards and observing hygiene standards, cleaning, lubrication, and Inspection schedules.
Providing QA test data to customers via regular data downloads
Maintaining a system for the sampling and provision of customer samples
Assisting Technical and Customer Service with sample testing
Reviewing and generating work instructions / OPL’s / Risk assessments etc.

The Successful Candidate

With a willingness to learn, you will have previous QA Technician experience in a similar role or a desire to pursue a career in Quality.

You will be a strong communicator who works well alongside others but can also work independently as required. You will be able to organise and prioritise tasks. IT literate, you will have a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.

You will be degree educated or equivalent in Chemistry.

This position is based on 37.5 hours per week, this will mainly be day shift working however flexibility is essential to support quality needs
