Buyer key role in the growth ambitions of the organisation
The role:
As Buyer you are responsible for the financial performance of your category including all P&L accountability - sales, margin / profit, supplier rebates and all costs associated with running the category
You will focus on managing the category budget, profit plan and other financial metrics against sales, efficiency and operating margin targets
As buyer you will manage the negotiations with suppliers to enjoy the lowest, sustainable net cost for the quality of products specified
You will create the annual plan for your category, including products, pricing, packaging, day-part growth, equipment and merchandising
Ideal candidate:
You will be operating at buyer level for a UK grocery retailer and will work well within a fast-paced commercial environment.
It is essential that you have excellent strategic experience along with the ability to drive engagement and execution across the wider business.
Having extensive negotiation experience you will also have fantastic product development and commercial management experience and will have proven experience of leading the successful commercialisation of new product concepts from conception to implementation
You will thrive in a matrix blue chip structure that is down to earth and personable.
Benefits&details:
Excellent package - up to £60,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits
Location home based Bedfordshire 2 days a week
