Key Accountabilities Accountable for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of technical standards across the site which are both necessary and appropriate and aligned with Customer/ Group requirements and site strategy. Also, accountable for ensuring that improvement opportunities are identified and realised. Build and sustain strong relationships with key customer contacts, thus enabling effective communication and providing a sound basis on which to build trust and develop customer confidence. Lead and manage the Quality Function to ensure they are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and teamwork. Build trust through effective leadership and the skilled application of people management processes and open 2-way communications. Facilitate the development of Technical excellence across the Business Unit by supporting and challenging both the Business Unit Senior Team and site in the development of Technical Resource Management strategies. Coach and develop staff according Ensuring the necessary resources are in place as required by the needs of the business. Identify gaps in skills and expertise and develop accordingly. Mentor other members of site team as appropriate. Maintain product quality and adherence to Standards by ensuring effective governance mechanisms are in place. These would include relevant metrics, governance meetings and escalation processes. Give sound technical input to the business and play an active role in strategic decision making to ensure the safe production of food to protect consumers. Key activities will include providing relevant technical guidance and support to the site to ensure issues are risk assessed as necessary and appropriate corrective actions identified. Skills and Experience Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject. Fluency of English language Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data Proficient in the use of MS Office tools Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems Knowledge of and experience in the application of the BRC Global Food Standard and specific customer standards as they apply Excellent organisational and project management skills, including the ability to identify, implement and lead change on site through challenging, leading and influencing managers and cross-functional teams on specific projects Strong self-discipline and a structured approach to improvements The ability to identify and actively plan improvements Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment Why Join Pilgrim’s Food Masters Our values are at the heart of our business and drive everything we do.
