Title: Commercial Manager Salary: Competitive salary package Location: Remote site Birmingham B31 Job overview We are supporting a FTSE 250 construction company recruit a Commercial Manager, to engage on all commercial activity to bring this back in house. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop the construction team's and to deliver commercial strategy on contracts, standardisation, procurement, cost reporting and various other projects. This role would suit a commercial professional with significant quantity surveying preferably from a main contractor or client side. Key responsibilities Responsible for maintenance and update of construction department standard forms and templates Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations In conjunction with Construction Managers, review and appraise external Employers Agent cost reporting standards (month and quarterly reports) to ensure quality accuracy and consistency across all teams Reviews and approves monthly cash flow with FD ensuring constraints are not exceeded and providing report to the Senior Leadership team Lead cost and performance benchmarking across all supply chains to deliver cost savings and added value Leads and feeds back from peer reviews to drive best value from development opportunities Accountable for collating and managing construction team risk and opportunity schedules Establish key supply chain partner relationships Maintain regular contact with trusted contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure we remain well-informed of cost increase and material delivery timelines Developing and maintaining suitable procurement strategies Manage Master Service Agreements to reflect the changing requirements of the business Work with construction managers to ensure the supply chain delivers the cost, programme, and quality requirements for the business unit Continuously review our supply chain performance and use analytics to inform and shape our future commercial approach Understanding succession planning opportunities within the supply chain to ensure it is resilient to our business requirements Candidate overview Experience or equivalent in the relevant Commercial area, preferably with a contractor or client Higher education industry discipline relevant qualification and potentially qualified such as RICS and/or MCIOB accreditation Proven track record in leading and developing successful Commercial teams in a contracting or client organisation Exceptional commercial, legal, technical, management and financial skills Strong professional network Excellent communication skills Full valid driving licence Able to successfully manage the performance of large external teams For further information please contact Jack Dawkins on /
